Someone Else's Hands

For this Photoblitz I chose my bedroom because it is filled with everything that is me and there were a million things that I could choose. It is probably the only place I am ever at where I can relax a little and don't have to have attention other places. The experience was a lot of fun. I was trying to think of many different cool things to take pictures of where I was interpreting the photo types as different from what other people may and it made it extra fun. I would say the most interpretive photos worked best for me, and I'm curious if some people will get some of the things that I took pictures of. I look forward to seeing others photos.

ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteDo you have a coffee pot in your bedroom?
I can tell you really like your bedroom because I believe it's your background too. It's a place of comfort and study and the place where we dream and fight off nightmares. It can be such a revealing place and yet your shots leave so much mystery. A very cool choice.
I liked how simple your shots were so that they did leave a wide open space for interpretation. You didn't go into detail for why you chose what you did, like I did, making others able to find their own meanings.
I love how artsy your shots are; the hand, the colour weave, the bedspread (I did one of those too!) and of course, I love the raccoon on the alarm clock.
The most interesting shot for me is the open drawer through. What could be in there? Or what isn't in there? Talk about openness!

ReplyDeleteWow, that converging lines picture is outrageous, you probably would have done that one as your "is that a photograph" picture because it looks so much like a painting! I really love that photo! I have to say though, your most creative picture is the "someone else's hands" photo. WOW. I would have never thought of that and REALLY creative on your part. I would love to hear how you got the idea for that picture. One thing I love about your photos is that they all seem to work well with one another, a theme you could even say. "I would say the most interpretive photos worked best for me" and you certainly accomplished that.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jocelyn too about the open drawer photo, "The most interesting shot for me is the open drawer through. What could be in there? Or what isn't in there? Talk about openness!" Indeed!
Nate,
ReplyDeleteYou are sassy in the most hilarious way. Your openness picture completely surprised me, as I'm sure it was supposed to. It was the same with "someone else's hands." You are so clever. Your ability to interpret (and completely turn on it's head) this assignment in your own way makes your mini-project so interesting to investigate. Bravo, my friend.
I also love that you didn't explain your choices; let 'em figure it out!
Nate! I love "Someone else's hands" and it made me think of all the ways you could use an assignment like this to focus kids' attention on English-y things out there in the world, like symbols and icons with universal or understood meanings. COOL! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI really liked yours. Like many of the ones I've seen, I really got a sense of "personality" from it.
ReplyDeleteLike many of the previous posters, I liked how you interpreted "someone else's hands."
I love the raccoon clock, and the "openness" picture, simply because I love the bright, acidic green in the drawer. It could be a folder, contact paper, a binder, anything. But it immediately draws the eye away from the other, muted colors.
I can tell you had fun interpreting everything, and I think you did so very cleverly.
